Father John J. Lombardi  (a.k.a: "Father Jack") joined St. Peter & St. Patrick parishes, on June 1, 2009.  He is motivating our parish family to be active in many new mission fields, including: praying in front of the abortion mill in Hagerstown and spiritually adopting the unborn children. He has met with young parishioners about  possible vocations to religious life, and arranged to have young men from the parish meet with the Archbishop for this purpose.  Father Jack has started  weekly adoration from 8:00am – 8:00pm on Thursdays, at St. Peter's, in Hancock. He is a true outdoorsman and loves to spend his free time in the beautiful waters of the nearby Potomac River, or hiking up the various mountains in the area. Always up for a game of softball or soccer, Father Jack keeps the youth and elders of the parish on their "athletic" toes! His great devotion to Our Lady and Our Lord's Divine Mercy inspires and blesses us in our daily faith-life journeys.

Deacon James Mason (known to many "in these parts" as "Jimmie") is a life-long member of Saint Peter Parish, Hancock, MD.

By trade, he is employed as a Financial Manager for the Keystone Fruit Marketing Inc., in Greencastle, PA.

Deacon Jim was first inspired toward his religious vocation by Father Joe Cosgrove (a former pastor of St. Peter Parish). It was Father Joe who “planted the idea”. Some time later, Father John Lesnick  (another former Pastor, here) passed on some information session materials to Jim; and, Father Jack Lombardi, (current Administrator  at St. P's) along with Father George Limmer (Pastor Emeritus of St. Mary Parish, Hagerstown, MD, and Deacon Jim's Spiritual Director) kept him “keeping on”.

When asked about his hobbies, Deacon Jim quips “Before formation, when I had free time, I enjoyed theatre, antiquing, and volunteer work for many local not-for-profits”. ..which included:  the local Interfaith Services Coalition, Red Cross, United Way, and the Frostburg State University Alumni Association; just to name a few!

Deacon Jim, newly-ordained, pledges to the “best deacon” hecan be “with God's help”.

We, at Saint Peter's, are blessed to have him and so thrilled that the Archbishop assigned him to his home-parish!
